Gorgosaurus BW
The Gorgosaurus is a carnivorous Cretaceous dinosaur that is a close relative of the Tyrannosaurus, but is smaller. The adults are an average of 8-9 meters long. Unlike the keyhole or oval-shaped eye sockets of other tyrannosaurids, theirs were circular. The name "Gorgosaurus" means "fierce lizard," and these fierce lizards have longer and lower skulls than most other tyrannosaurids. Their fossils were discovered in Alberta, as the Albertosaurus' fossils were, too.
