An Eastern Blue-tongued Lizard is a kind of Australian skink that can grow up to be 30-60 centimeters long. They can live to be 30 years old and are popular as pets. These skinks have bright to dark blue tongues that they display prominently and loudly hissing when disturbed. This species was first dscribed by John White. The Eastern Blue-tongued Lizard is slow due to its stocky build and its underside is usually pale with most members of the species.
